ENABLE-DEM

To better the sharing and using of new knowledge about supporting a good life with dementia.

The ECDT participates in the ENABLE-DEM project as a learning community, to share and use new knowledge about supporting a good life with dementia.

The Enable-dem project of Windesheim University of Applied Sciences wants to enable people with dementia and their carers to live a good life with dementia. Healthcare providers play a major role in this support. (Further) training of care providers does not always match with what is needed in dementia care. Care providers also indicate that their organizations make learning and development insufficiently possible.

To be able to share and use new knowledge about supporting a good life with dementia more efficiently, other ways of training and (further) development are needed. That is why learning communities have become increasingly popular. These communities are collaborative groups of various organizations and professionals who learn, work, and innovate together. They include current and future care providers, educators, researchers, business owners, municipal officials, administrators of care and welfare organizations, and volunteers, as well as people with dementia and their caregivers. We as ECDT participate in the project as a learning community, and look forward to sharing and using knowledge with other learning communities.
