Sentic is an interactive music player with interchangeable modules to adapt the interface to the capabilities of the person with dementia.
In this project we investigated how a user interface can support people with dementia in gaining personal and direct access to a music device. Despite a growing interest in designing technology for people with dementia, personal and direct access to systems is not always considered. That's why we designed Sentic, a music player interface concept whose user interface can be adapted to the different capabilities of people with dementia. This project briefly demonstrates insights from Sentic's design process, which was informed by workshop sessions with people with dementia. Sentic is presented as an example of an alternative approach in designing interfaces that can be tailored to the different capabilities of people with dementia.
