Echo

Echo

A safe place to share stories.

EKKO is a modular space that encourages sharing stories based on personal favorite videos.

EKKO is designed to provide residents, family members and healthcare professionals with a safe space that invites them to share stories and associations arising from the videos shown tailored to the user. EKKO encourages sharing stories as a way to connect residents, loved ones and healthcare professionals.

The space consists of various panels that can be placed in any desired shape in the care center. The modular space contains a video screen, a remote control to influence the videos, theme discs to play generic videos that fit a theme (e.g. Christmas), a cabinet under the video screen in which all electronics are hidden and two lamps that present a color that matches the video.

The personal profile can be completed by healthcare providers in the online EKKO web environment. They can upload any YouTube video that is of interest to the user.

EKKO plays videos based on the user's personal profile once it recognizes the user through the user's personal beacon. The remote control allows the user to indicate whether the video is liked or not. Together with other viewing habits, this influences which videos are played next time for the user. In this way, EKKO learns which content suits the user best and will display it to create an optimal experience.
